Giving Thanks!

November 17, 2023 by Jenna

A donor recently bought us a Fire TV stick and the chimps have been captivated by the new videos! Previously, our TV only was able to play DVDs, but now we can stream anything online. Willy B’s favorite types of videos include chimpanzees, so it was pretty easy to decide to first put on our own YouTube channel for them to watch. As you will see in today’s video, Dora, Lucky, Willy B, and Cy were captivated by the whole experience so far. We don’t have the TV on all the time, so they definitely take notice and enjoy it when it is time!

Thank you to the special donor who bought the Fire stick for us! Thank you to all of our donors who help us 365 days a year. We appreciate you, greatly!

Exciting news! Ornaments of each of our residents (chimpanzees and bovine) have been added to the online auction! These are one of my personal favorite items to bid on and Grace and I have already been outbidding one another. Join us!

We also have a matching donation from Monica Best (official founder of the Comfort & Joy Quid Pro Throw Online Auction) from now until the end of the auction until we reach the total goal of $20,000 raised! Bidding and donating ends tomorrow, Saturday, November 18th at 6:00 PM PT/ 8:00 PM CT/ 9:00 PM ET, so the time to bid is now!

You can hear that poor, tired old dryer at the beginning of the video. I know you’ll be happy to replace it soon! Bubba and Annie were really having a time of it! As Grace knows, I’m mailing something out to you tomorrow. The Fire Stick gave me the idea to include the Roku that I’m not using, in case you have another tv on the other side.

Oh my goodness, it reminded me of when my ex’s cousins would take pirate videos back to the Caribbean, to their mountain town, and all of the neighborhood kids would crowd into their house, one of a few in town that had tvs, as though it were the neighborhood cinema! Enrapt!
Now Willy B can watch some slinky action videos! A d maybe Hercules and his scooter!
Never fails. The Party Police was on duty, and you got busted, Jenna. waa waaaa.

I absolutely love how the chimps were lined up watching the videos! Do you think they recognize each other? So happy for them!

Annie and Burrito were having an epic play session!! Jamie needs to read Grace’s post from the 15th—“….taking the time to spend quality, fully present moments with people you love is a pretty good reason to put [the Fun Police] on hold.” (Okay, so not exactly a direct quote but the message is the same.)

Thank you Fire Stick donor!! You jumped right on Diana’s suggestion lightning fast. Well done. What a crack up seeing the chimps all in a row for movie night. I think they need some popcorn!

Between Annie and Bubba’s laugh-filled play session and Terry’s bunny-hopping, an enjoyable video to watch. I just hope that the chimpers don’t get hooked on watching the Jerry Springer Show…

Considering Burrito’s recentl love of watching the drama next door, I have a feeling he might be a fan…

Oh, say it isn’t so! I like to think that Bubs has more refiined taste, as seen in the video from 9-19-2012.

Annie’s droopy lip when playing is just the best. And those breathy pants!
I guess Jamie was the fun police today; always on the clock, that lady!
