jb serves dinner to jamie and foxie

What’s for dinner?

June 15, 2011 by Diana

The crowd gathers as J.B. hands out dinner. (Jamie and Foxie. Note the troll torso in Foxie’s right hand.)

For Burrito, it doesn’t really matter what’s for dinner – he’s excited about all food.

Foxie’s not that keen on vegetables, but red peppers meet her approval.

Missy loaded up on the peppers. Good thing she has a big chimp mouth and opposable toes.

Sometimes the chimps get exotic vegetables the humans aren’t even familiar with, like Thai eggplant. (Jody)

Potatoes and radishes round out the meal. (Missy)

And of course dinner is not complete without a night bag. (Burrito and Missy)

We are fortunate to receive a lot of donated food from volunteers, supporters, Spud! in Seattle and Safeway in Cle Elum. Many thanks to all of you for keeping the chimps happy and healthy!

Oh, beautiful photos of everyone! They are all looking quite happy and content. The one of Foxie looking at the camera is particularly gorgeous. And Miss is pretty impressive…..I wish I had a chimp mouth and opposable toes when cookies are around. Or chocolates…..well, you get the idea. 🙂

grrreat pix of course … and i notice in your shots of the chimpsters they are looking directly into the camera more and more (i could be mistaken) … i would think this is very representative of the level of comfort, trust and relaxation they are feeling in their home and with their caretakers (i could be mistaken#2). whatever, it gives the portraits a very intimate feeling and their eyes reflect the contentment they feel … and yes, i am a pushover for freckle faced burrito and his electrified hair …

I agree, Leslie. I believe the photos show how happy and content the chimps are too. You can see it and their beautiful souls in their eyes. How can anyone who looks into those eyes not love each one for who they are? 7 chimps have touched the souls of so many people who now love them. I believe they feel that love from all of us.
