Unseen Bits

October 18, 2023 by Kelsi

As caregivers, we collect photos and videos on our phones constantly throughout the week. However, not everything makes it to the blog. Often when we get to our designated blog day, the chimps do something that inspires an idea or specific theme so we end up saving the content for later, or if we are nice, we share it with a co-worker if they are in need. The only thing about saving it for later is that it can get lost on our camera roll. Luckily for all of you, I have found some of the best unseen clips from the vault (aka my phone) and made a video to share! It would be a tragedy if these videos did not get shared with all of you!

Photos from the vault!

Terry grooming Honey B. It was such a tender and sweet moment between the two of them:

Rayne intensely grooming Mave:

Rayne striking a pose on the firehose:

A bonus photo!

This morning as we all arrive to the sanctuary it was very chill, but the morning fog looked so beautiful:

Jamie seemed to enjoy the fog and crisp air because she was so excited to go for a walk this morning. She came sprinting out of the raceway!

That foggy morning shot looks like something out of a movie shot, Kelsi!

Honey B still playing aggressively, right out of the gate!
    Dora’s laugh is a delight!
    Love Willy’s Bugs impersonation.
Kelsi, do you think Willy B is happier now that there are other “dudes” around?

Hi Linda! I do think Willy B is much happier with Cy, Terry, and Gordo. But he also really enjoys spending time with Rayne :).

Well, i5 seems to be mutual!
        Thanks, Kelsi!
Now we need to find someone for Gordito!

“I gonna pull your leg off……but I’m only playin’, honest!
Kelsi, I think you should run a ‘champion clackers’ competition….there are lots of contenders for the top prize.

Please share “phone dumps” more often. Loved this! Can never get enough of Willy B’s grooming clacking or veggie chewing. Rayne, Honey B, Mave, and Dora have certainly formed one heck of a Girls Club.

Your foggy morning photo looks like a scene out of “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”. Figures Jamieween Jamie was excited to get outside and into the fog!

Agree. This phone dump was great. Thank you Kelsi.

Beautiful morning glow :sun_with_face: Though I’ve lived in Florida for many years now, I was raised in California and I miss the mountains and the morning mist. So soft.

I sure would love to rub some lotion all over some chimps! It’s funny, sometimes they look really moisturized and other times really dry.

Thank you for sharing these awesome photos- especially the foggy morning! I loved the video and felt up close to the chimps chilling out and jusy having fun and maybe some mischief. Thank God for the camera on the cell phone!

Lips-smacking while grooming is the chimp version of purring! Thank you for sharing these hidden gems!
