Willy B’s 33rd Unbirthday Party!

March 1, 2023 by Kelsi

As some of you might have read in Diana’s blog, we recently found out Willy B’s real birthday is in November. We felt like Willy B deserved one last hurrah for his former March celebration! The lucky guy will get two birthday parties this year! Personally, I love Willy B’s birthday because we always put out coconuts, which is a special treat for them. But truthfully I love watching Willy B with coconuts because he has his own special flare on how to crack a coconut. I look forward to it every year!

Our next celebration is Cy! It is coming up fast, we put some special items on the Amazon Wish List to celebrate his book club party!

What a great unbirthday party! I hope the birthday man was able to enjoy his coconut! There were some vultures buzzing around, waiting to swoop! Was the Gordo with the cute little bottom wiggle, hanging over his shoulder? Or Cy?
Thanks for the long video, everyone! Were there coconuts on the other side of the house, too?

Willy B – No, its mine. I’ve done the work, I’ve got it open and no one else is having any.

Willy B you handsome guy, glad you got a rehearsal birthday with some of your favorite treats. Sometimes you just need a foot like Mave did to get a coconut open.

what??? I can’t believe I missed sponsiring Willy B’s birthday! and for some reason I’m not getting the blog of chimpanzee emails. just a lot going on with me…

BUT I did a little write up a couple weeks ago for his birthday. Here it is

My dearest oh so handsome Willy B, I am so very proud of you. You went from being the only male in your group to being one of four. I can’t imagine the challenges that you faced, But I see that you are very well liked and a great team player. You respect and are respected. I’m looking forward to the day when you can Go outside once more. You are the only one in your group to have done so already. Be a leader and an example my dear Willy and show the others how to be brave. I know you can do it. Be a shining light Willie B!

Clearly everyone enjoyed that celebration! Coconuts and mangos look like a group favorite! Our birthday boy is very wise to enjoy his special coconuts for as long as he could! Rolling, banging, racquet balling it off the corner of the walls…. Milking it (pun intended) for all it was worth!! After all that energy was spent on one coconut there was no way Willy B was going to share with his friend Cy. (Was that Cy?! I must admit I had a hard time recognizing the boys!)

Happy Birthday Willy B! May your year be full of wonders.

Given that the handsome Mr. Willoughby has the appetite for two chimpeople, and given my suspicions that he might qualify as a member of two species (pan Troglodyte as well as Gorilla gorilla gorilla), I think that it fitting that Willy B. should have two birthdays per year. Or, failing that, I hope Willypalooza can be celebrated this time next year with coconuts and mangoes.

    Happy Un-B, W.B.

Loved seeing all the activity……pictures are great. Whenever I see the WW chimps I am just so happy they have “gone up in the world” and have
such a variety of activities and such a “cushy” environment!! Definite improvement!!

Oh Willie B, you made my heart soar with your wonderful enjoyment of your birthday bash. But, you made my teeth hurt with your cracking of the coconut with your teeth. But what a wonderful birthday bash you had with your friends with a final game of squash, which you are a clear expert at. And not least, but your fantastic caregivers, who went overboard with giving you and your friends the love and care to enjoy your birthdays.
