Negra Hibernates

April 13, 2022 by Kelsi

April has surprised us with a lot of snow. Personally, I think we paid our dues back in January, but here we are. Negra saw her shadow and decided 2 more weeks of winter and went back into hibernation.

Oh, my dear Neggie. Here you went to all that trouble on GroundApe’s Day in February to not see your shadow, and the snow came back again. Alas, I have it on good authority that the snow will be gone by Sunday when a Rabbit is due to leave some gifts for you amidst the new green blades arising from the Earth.

HA! I laughed out loud when I saw the “saw her own shadow” comment.

I am loving Rayne more and more. She’s just soooooo pretty, like Jody!

    Cheers.

I didnt want to get up this morning either…to cold, so you can’t blame the Queen for wanting to hibernate a bit longer.
Did you really say that Rayne was sitting comfortably on the fire hose, ouch, it doesn’t look too comfortable to me. Of course, I’m only a human.

I love Negra and her two favourite hobbies….sleeping and eating! A girl after my own heart….go Neggie!

I’m just like Negra. Give me a blanket on a cold, snowy, dreary day and I’ll hibernate until June. Looking at Rayne, I have no idea how these chimpers can balance themselves on those firehoses.

Negra must be thinking she dreamed that sunny forage the other day. I am happy she’s sitting by the sunny window in the photo booth. Her favorite spot will keep her warm while she watches the spring snow melt away. Soon, the spring grass will calling to her again.

Rayne looks adorable sitting on the firehose hammock……actually, Rayne looks like her half sibling Honey B in these photos! Rayne hasn’t quite mastered the famous deadpan stare of Honey B’s, but there’s a little something similar going on in her eyes.

I think Cy is considering what publication to read next. It’s a big decision and reading is great way to pass a snowy day.
