Today was the first day The Lucky Six were out of quarantine! They have been in quarantine since they have arrived and during that time we took turns working with them each day. So it was nice to be able to pop over from time to time today and say hi! You will notice a lot of my photos are of them, as I was taking advantage of this. Sometimes it’s hard to get photos in the first half of the day since we are busy cleaning. This afternoon I spent some time walking around between the three different groups to see what photos I could get. Not only did I get some photos this afternoon, but a relaxing grooming session with Jamie and a play session with Dora!
Sweet Dora drinking from the extra tub of water we set up in their enclosure.
Gordo relaxing in one of their Playrooms.
Rayne was all about finding good resting spots today.
Lucky watching me from above.
Cy flipping through one of his magazines.
Cy taking a little break from looking at his magazines.
Jamie waiting to have a grooming session with my boots.
Foxie and her doll resting in the Greenhouse.
Honey B with her makeshift table and chair.

You’re so lucky, Sam! I wanna play session with l’il Dora! She looks so sweet!
Have they figured out the Lixit taps yet?
Yes! We have seen almost everyone using them 🙂
So thrilled to see the Lucky 6 out of quarantine in their wonderful new home. Many thanks to all at ChimpsNW for your care and compassion.
Rayne’s Smile!!
Cy is a man after my own heart. I love to watch him read his magazines. He looks so enthralled and content. Thank you for providing such contentment to all the beautiful chimpanzee people you care for every day.
They’re all so special and lovely. What are the ages of the Lucky Six, Sam? Have I missed the blog with that information in? Where are they allowed to go now that they’re out of quarantine…..I know how they feel as I live in Sydney and we’re confined to barracks too!
I’m just now watching coverage of the protest on your morning show. Awful
Oh, and their ages are under their bios, under the “our family”, then “chimpanzees”
https://chimpsnw.org/chimpanzees/ Here is the link to a little info about each chimp and how old they are! Some cute photos as well.
They are all so amazing and beautiful.
Wow! I’m in love with Cy right out of the gate; but then Gordo pops up his game-and Jamie made me laugh as she just emotes “what. About. Me?” Pure impatience but she wears it well!
Hard to believe a month has passed! But wonderful that you caregivers can now move about freely and you no longer have to deal with quarantine scheduling.
Thank you for all these photos of everyone. I hope you didn’t keep Jamie waiting!
I did not! I got a long piece of plastic material that she likes to groom with and let her get to work! 🙂
What wonderful Sunday for all the residents at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest! Thank you for all you do for them and for sharing with us through this blog!
Yes, that month flew by…So happy for you caregivers that restrictions are over!!
And now unto the next step??!!
I am very excited to see how the groups will blend, and I am very hopefull for this time.
Cannot wait!!!!
