Hip Hip Hooray! Today is Mave’s Celebration Day!!!! I think of Mave every single day because I was the lucky bidder in last years online auction, so a big stuffed beautiful Miss Mave sits in my studio at my drawing table and my silly dog and I greet her and work side by side with her everyday! The next best thing to being with the real Mave. 😉
Gee, now that I think about it, I may have to get a party hat for My Mave to wear today! Love you precious Mavis! Can’t wait to see photos of the celebration……

You’re welcome everyone! You know, now that I think about it, it was Mave who first brought me to the CSNW family. In the beginning of the lockdowns, bored with every day TV, I turned to the YouTube app on my TV, and came across videos from Project Chimps and Chimp Haven. They told the story of the laboratory chimps. Then searching YouTube for “laboratory chimps” I came across the video of Mave Willy B and Honey B and their journey to CSNW. That’s sweet image of Mave was just so precious. If you haven’t seen the video, I think they have it on the homepage. But it was also CSNW itself that won me over. The smallest of the sanctuaries, CSNW gives all of us the opportunity to really get to know each chimpanzee personally. The daily blog, the daily photos and videos. They really bring us all in to the chimphouse and bring the chimp house into our hearts. To me it really is just a very very special place. And Mave brought me to it.

If only more human primates could hurry up and evolve into people who have the personality and heart of Maeve O’Chimpanzee, the Anthroposphere would be far more livable. As it is, I am grateful that her spirit has come to dwell in that seemingly-oversized — if ever-so-fashionable — suit of black fur in which she moves about, bringing forth joy and, thus, living up to her name. I wish Madame Maeve a very happy birthday as she begins a new year of life.
