Some days, you just have a very good day. Other days seem to be good because of cosmic forces at play. Tonight is a Pink Supermoon. Meaning, the moon will be the closest to Earth than any other time this year (supermoon), and it also coincides with the Pink Moon, the name given to the full moon of April.
Today was a suspiciously quiet day here at Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest. All the chimpanzees spent most of their time resting or napping.
It was even a quiet day for Willy B, Honey B, and Mave.
Today, we also determined Jody is recovering tremendously and should have a play date. And what better friend to have visit you than Foxie?
When I first opened the door that separated them, they flew into each other’s embrace. They then engaged in a small game of chase before spending nearly all day grooming and napping with each other.
Whether today was just a good day, or the Pink Supermoon was emitting super lunar vibes, it’ hard to say. I’m just glad it was a magnificent day for the chimpanzees.

I looks and sounds like a super good day at CSNW. Well, maybe Negra might grumble over that rude awakening, love the look on her sleepy face in the second photo. Thanks for the update on Jody’s playdate with Foxie. Best friends make the best medicine. I hope all of you (chimps, moo’s, and humans) were able to see the Pink Supermoon rising this evening. Here on the east coast it was a beautiful sight to behold.

If only some humans can learn from Jody and Foxie. You gotta love ’em.

The photos of Foxie and Jody are so heartwarming. Everything makes me cry these days and though those two photos were so precious, it brought the waterworks on big time

Maybe it was both. No supermoon here – all clouds. You all were very lucky to
see it. Not sure I have ever seen a “pink” moon. Interesting how different one day
can be from the rest with the chimps. So nice to see how they have “best” friends
at the sanctuary. Just hearing how happy they are is wonderful after their “first” life
which was not for nice. Thank you for rescuing them.

What a beautiful story to brighten my morning! T warms my heart that these beautiful animals have such great care, and I love how they choose to spend their days. I think I’ll take a page out of their book today, and maybe lounge around a bit more.
I’m glad Jody is on the mend and enjoyed her play date with Miss Foxy! Love to you all from us here,

Chad, what a wonderful post! So happy to know that Jody is coming along well with her recovery and that she had the good company of Foxie to spend time with. Heartwarming pictures too. That moon was amazing from the Midwest too! It feels good to know we can all look up and enjoy the beauty of the moon.
It makes me feel like we are all connected even though we may be keeping our distance from one other for now.
