Oh Mave! You do bring me joy. I knew you were Irish as soon as I saw those freckles.

What an apt name for such a source of joy! What are the odds that not only would this sanctuary have fourteen of the most beautiful and endearing inhabitants found this side of County Kerry, but that many of them would be Irish in some capacity? (Not only that, but it appears that Annie made it through the summer without the need to send forth a snake alarm call; yet another benefit of treating the cattle to all-you-can eat buffets of grass within which the serpents would otherwise inhabit. I think that St. Padraig would approve…)

Lovely, but that bottom photo is saying “what is it with the hoomans at this place and that device that they’re always pointing at us?”
Something about the color of Mave’s face and her freckle placement reminds me of Andy Serkis’ Ceasar from the films.

Wise Mave, her eyes tell a tale of learned wisdom from struggles and pain…..a gal that can make lemonade out of life’s lemons.

Yes! She is great JOY! Also, such a good friend to all. She looks out for Willie and I am sure she try’s her best to keep Honey B reasonable in her adventures. She is also awesome in how she is trying to build relationships with all! LOVE HER.

Mave was named Mave after her two long-term caregivers in the lab named Mike and Dave. I love that other meaning of her name as well.
