Chewing Gum

January 11, 2019 by J.B.

The chimps at CSNW love chewing gum and each has their own style. Negra likes to stretch hers out as far as she can.

O how delightful! Did you caretakers show the chimps the fun of gum, or did they discover for themselves that it’s not for quick swallowing? If that, the discovery process must have been a lot of fun to watch!!!

We never showed them, but I imagine many of them had chewed gum before coming to CSNW. Some of them do swallow it pretty quickly though!

Neggie’s all about the savour……she likes to stretch out the time she takes with food……:)

Oh, how funny, I was just thinking of that old one in the greenhouse from a couple of years back, where Foxie was chewing (and enjoying) gum! I’m glad you guys post at the time you do; I love “having dinner” with the chimps!

I also like seeing this playful side of Neggie…due to her age and trauma, those moments seem fewer and farther between than with, say, Burrito or Foxie, so it’s nice of you to share them with us!

That is just what a child would do!!! That just cracked me up. LOL

Reminds me of myself when I was young!

Thanks for those 22 seconds of sheer pleasure. Looks like she was really having fun with that piece of gum. I wonder how long Negra chewed away on that piece before swallowing it. I just love this girl.

This video is absolute joy! I’m still smiling about it! I just love Negra so much!

Besides freckles and a love of peanuts, I knew that I had something else in common with Negra. She
plays with her gum just like me, alas…
