Then and Now

November 27, 2018 by Elizabeth

Negra in the lab:

Negra in lab cage

Negra today:

Sanctuary has given Negra peace, safety, and dignity. She now knows the sensation of the sun on her back, of curling up with a mountain of warm blankets, and of being loved.

There are currently hundreds of pre-sanctuary Negras who have no idea that there’s another kind of life. Help us bring them home by donating toward our year-end fundraising goal! We’re so grateful for your help.

Then and Now posts always cause a huge pang in my heart. But the ending is oh so sweet. Dear precious Negra, you finally have a life you deserve. Elizabeth, I believe you have coined the perfect campaign slogan! We can’t stop until we bring all the “pre-sanctuary Negra’s” HOME! Safe and sound in sanctuary.

I know that Negra and her six companions are now safe and at home, and being
treated humanely. Still, I sob when I view that first photograph.
