Jamie

September 24, 2018 by Kelsi

Sometimes when I hangout with Jamie there is a moment when it hits me how overwhelmingly cool she is.

Today, this was that moment:

Bonus Foxie with her strawberry shortcake doll:

Of course there are many points in the day when I come to this realization about Jamie or any of the other chimps. For example Jamie was having a great day today and at a certain point after lunch she was ready for her current favorite boot. As I quietly (so as to not disturb Jamie) played spin-kiss the doll-pass it back to Foxie, Jamie gathered her blankets and boots while quietly breathy panting in contentment and excitement for what was going to be a great nap. Unfortunately, we can’t always capture those moments in a photo!

It’s blog posts like this that make me realize how lucky I am to experience the chimps through your day to day stories. Oh to spend time with brilliant, beautiful Jamie every day. To have her look into your eyes and gesture towards you — be still my beating heart. What a lovely picture you painted of Jamie, gathering blankets, content to dive into a cozy nest and take her afternoon nap. Love that image, breathy pants and all. Thanks!
And I also love the very last photo of the back of Foxie. Is there anything more perfect than the back of a chimp, all black and shiny with their hair all fluffed up on their shoulders. What an extraordinary job you have Kelsi. You make a difference in the world….. I know it is endless hard work too, but moments like these must make your heart sing.

Jamie is not only cool, but she is beautiful and intelligent. How I wish the Boss was concurrently
serving as president of these United States.
