Thank you, Keri!

May 27, 2017 by J.B.

We’re sad to announce that caregiver and master-of-all-things-enrichment, Keri Heniff, is stepping down from her role as a part-time staff member at CSNW. The good news, however, is that she’s not really going anywhere – Keri will continue to make the long drive from Leavenworth to care for the Cle Elum Seven as a volunteer. We’ll just see her a little less often.

Keri has been a true friend to the chimps and an indispensable member of the team here at CSNW. So even though we’re not really losing her, I hope you’ll join me in taking this moment to thank her for her hard work, her dedication, and her devotion to the chimps.

And by the way, Keri, Jamie has made it clear that the boots will fit the same whether you are a staff member or a volunteer and she expects the same number of walks when you are here.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to CSNW’s newest staff member, Kelsi, in June when she completes her cross-continental journey from Quebec.

Thanks, Keri! I’ve been so impressed at the variety and quality of enrichment at the Sanctuary! Now I know who’s behind it. I’m happy you will be staying on as a volunteer. Otherwise I know the chimps would miss you, and I know you would miss them!

Good luck Keri. Thank you for all you have done for the chimps. They will miss you even though you will still be back to volunteer.

Oh Keri, I know your magic will be dearly missed! Best of luck to you whatever you do and wherever you go. I am pleased to know you will still be volunteering at CSNW, you can’t let all that talent go to waste. I can only imagine how much the chimps will miss you and I bet that first official volunteer visit will be met with pant hoots and joy from each individual. XOXO

Your clever enrichment projects/programs always amazed me. You have a creative mind and I am sure it will be hard to fill your shoes. I know you must be leaving with a heavy heart and I wish you the best In whatever you will be involved in now You will certainly be missed. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into making life so exciting for our beloved seven.
