Hurry Up, Please

November 14, 2016 by Elizabeth

One of the reasons we call Negra the Queen of the Cle Elum Seven chimpanzees is that she knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it, and she makes sure to let us know. When she decides it’s time to eat – this can be anywhere from a few minutes before mealtime to an hour before mealtime – she goes up to the playroom loft where she has a clear view of the humans working in the kitchen, and employs a variety of techniques to tell us to hurry it up. Once the meal begins, Negra continues to do whatever she can to move us along at a pace that suits her.

That’s hilarious! I especially like the hand-clapping. You can just hear her say “c’mon move it, you’re so sloooow…”

The only thing more wonderful than seeing Negra clapping and grunting for her food is watching Negra clapping and pointing for her night time Nut Bags! One of the all time happiest moments for me was seeing her do this in person. Tickled me to the core. Love you Negra!!! (and I totally cracked up at her “teeth chatter” on the caging!!)

Always makes me smile! So did you all FINALLY get her meal done? 😉 Geez!

Adorable! The hand clapping and teeth chattering seems quite effective and I love how quickly she grabs her food:)
