Celebrating Negra’s playful side

April 18, 2012 by Jackie

Sometimes I feel there is nothing more special than seeing Negra play. And there really couldn’t be a better combo than Negra and goofy Foxie.

(Be sure to watch this video to the very end. It’s hard to see through the caging, but well worth it once you do!)

Negra fills my heart with joy.

OMG, OMG!! I love it!!! How could it get better than that?!?! Having just seen the documentary, Chimpanzee, it makes my heart sing to see these girls having so much fun being their chimpanzee selves, despite all they have experienced! But even more amazing is that they are acting like juvenile chimps! Which says everything about their home and family. xoxo

I love Negra and it does my heart good to see her so unabashedly enjoying herself!

Katelyn, I thought Chimpanzee didn’t open until Friday. Do you have connections someplace?
I love the laughter in that video!
Not to get all new-agey on you, but when I started volunteering, the first time I was in the presence of Negra, I could totally feel her energy; so much so that I asked “Who is that chimp?” (I can’t quite tell them apart yet). I love them all, but I have a special place in my heart for that girl.

      Patti,
Somehow (no idea how) I ended up with an invitation from the Jane Goodall Institute for their special screening hosted by the filmmaker, Bill Wallauer. Woot!! 🙂 Incredible story and amazing cinematography, but take your Kleenex! So excited that it’s helping to bring information to children, and the mainstream in general.

I was at that special screening as well. It is an excellent film and will be a great educational tool for the masses. I learned several things I never knew before. Everyone should see it

And was that Negra doing the somersaulting ?? That girl still has it !!

Oh what a fantastic day at the Sanctuary!! That laughter is just the best! Especially coming from Foxie and Negra. It does a heart good to see Negra playing more and more often! Thanks Jackie.

I also had the great fortune to see the pre-opening screening. What fabulous cinematography and a beautiful twist to the unexpected tragedy that befell Oscar.

I want to volunteer at that sanctuary that takes care of the orphans! But first I plan to head out west one of these days to spend some time volunteering with CSNW. I can’t wait to meet these gals (and guy) in person.
