Today is a very special day at CSNW because sweet Dora turns 34 years old! This is Dora’s second birthday living in a true sanctuary setting which means that we are close to celebrating the 2nd anniversary of the Lucky Six’s arrival at CSNW. It is safe to say that she has stolen everyone’s heart with those big bubbly eyes, but mostly Mave’s heart. Dora’s best friend is Mave. Wherever you see one, you see the other one, making it very appropriate to call the duo: Mora. While Dora gets along great with everyone in her group, she is not to be messed with. Dora is a tiny chimpanzee, but she is mighty and will let you or her friends know, with impressive double kicks, if something is not to her liking.
To celebrate our favorite mini chimp, caregivers threw Dora and her friends a mini foods forage party.
The mini foods included were mini bananas, mini carrots, mini peppers, cherry tomatoes, mini cabbages, mini potatoes, and many more. Everyone, but specially Dora, had the best time!
Huge thanks to Paulette Wrisley for sponsoring today’s day of sanctuary in honor of Dora’s birthday!

Aw, thanks, Paulette!
Glad that Li’l Dora had a big ol’ time!
Thanks for the video, Sofía!

Happy, healthy 34th to dearest Dora! What a fun party. Funny how everyone chose to take only one item from the Dora blanket centerpiece table, so polite! Loved the mini produce almost as much as Rayne enjoyed her mini cabbages. Impressive!
(Paulette, your love for the chimps has no limits. Thanks for being the sanctuary’s birthday fairy.)

I paused the video at the point where Dora sits back and looks up at her Happy Birthday Dora banner. Then took a screenshot. What a perfect picture!
Awesome party everyone. Thank you to all of you wonderful caregivers!

Thank you Paulette for honoring sweet petite Dora on her birthday. As always looks like the birthday treats were enjoyed by all. Do you think Rayne collected enough cabbage today?
Marie says
After all that cabbage I’m sure tomorrow’s Air Quality in the chimp house will be under Red Alert:grin:

Happy Birthday dear Dora. Love the Dora decorations! The banner and blanket are so sweet and I took a screenshot when she looks at her banner too!!! I love how the other Chimps come by and take one vegetable but leave enough for her when she gets there. Such a nice forage. I love watching and listenibg to the Chimps enjoy their food. Thank you Paulette and caregivers for making the day so special.

Well, no doubt our A-Dora-ble birthday girl had you in mind when she paused before the image of her with her corn. Which is to say, thank you once again, Paulette, for sponsoring a birthday celebration for our friends.

Happy Birthday Dora! I love to see her play with her dolls. Absolutely adorable.. Lots of love to all the chimps, From Southern California!

Hello, a silly question. We all know that the chimps are extremely smart, so if you were to sing happy birthday to one of them, do they recognise the “song” so to speak and they know that something special will be out for them to eat? And of course, i like others fully enjoyed watching the party and loved how polite they all were. Thank you for showing them joy and love and freedom to pick what they want to do.
Linda C says
interesting question. Especially with Jamie and Burrito, who grew up with humans
